Flood Lights

I bought lights on ebay that are meant to light up when my car is unlocked or the door is open. I figured that if i wire the two wires that it came with into the dome light wiring, for (door open) that it would work. Unfortunately when i did so it turned on when the dome lights went off and vice versa. Does anyone know how i could solve this problem. Thanks
Main objective:i want the lights to light up whenever my dome light lights up.

I would like to install low profile 24″x 24″ florescent light fixtures in a new lay-in ceiling in my basement. There are multiple ducts and pipes between the joist which make it almost impossible to use recessed lights and the lay-in ceiling will be 4 inches below the joist so the low profile florescent fixtures will work perfect but i would like to use dimmer switches and i heard they do not work together very well. Any suggestions would be welcome.

This is with my new camera and fisheye, but me and andrew got two new flood lights today so we thought we would crank the shutter speed to the highest it could go (8000) to slow-mo stuff, obviously that didn’t work because there are barely any good editing programs that work well with AVCHD camera, so sorry if the quality is shitty.
